I suspect people would allow Glass to slide, largely due to its futurist connotations, the same way they let many electric cars slide.

The Prius doesn't look the way it does, because people let it slide. They look that way, because they want to make a statement and be seen.

I agree with your sentiment. Privacy and ads are a huge issue for me (and the reason I will not own one). As far as usage cases, I can see this being extremely useful while driving, if it's not too distracting. Has there been any indication this product will have ads? It is a paid product, unlike Google services. Google's products so far haven't had any ads in them.

I saw a girl in a bar in SF wearing them. She was a Google Glass model, and it was her job to wear them in public to raise interest.

I love it, thanks for sharing. I especially enjoyed the real life fruit ninja part, if technology can be used to make mundane tasks more exciting I'm all for it.

LOL. Now this is somehow technologies' fault. I can give you a simple solution: Get a girlfriend who likes you more than looking at stupid horoscopes on her iPhone.

They still do. Just because you're in a relationship where that isn't the case, doesn't mean technological advancements are to blame for it. I still have amazing engrossing conversations with people who are as embedded in technology as I am.

Sometimes I need a break from the oppression of being physically around people who demand all of my attention just by doing nothing more interesting or remarkable than "being there".
