In fairness is that really a bug? All apps are deliberately limited to a couple of GB on Android (depending on how much total RAM you have).

It would be pretty annoying if a random website can just DoS your phone by using all your RAM.

Yeah you'd think they could use some kind of exponential back-off type algorithm for apps that have been successfully reviewed many times... :-D

I find it super funny that all sorts of garbage goes into the AppStore, PlayStore. They both make ridiculous amounts of money, immense profit margins, I don't remember how much, they never publish the numbers, but likely in the 60-70%.

And yet there are STILL tons of developers defending app stores.

Yet life in Windows land is perfectly fine in 2026 and has been for at least 2 decades.

If Windows, which started at the bottom of the barrel security wise can make it, surely we can have more modern OSes that make freedom bearable?

Google Play rejected our 2.24.1 release (Aug 31). F-Droid is typically slower, but we don't have to worry about distribution issues.

This is regarding 2.25.0alpha4.

I've had Apple approve app submissions within 24 hours. It certainly hasn't been the norm (on average for me it takes more than 1 day, but less than 2), but I've had it happen occasionally over the past couple of years.

Thanks for clarifying. Yeah, I expected F-Droid to be slower... Though I feel like outright rejection is worse.
