#4More and more non-technical people can now build things they’ve always wanted to build, including their own websites.
As a non-technical person myself, I built my own website simply because I’ve always loved building things, but never really had the medium or technical skills to do it.
Now I do and the medium is Claude code.

#5AI-generated article starts with the premise that personal sites are making a comeback, but doesn't support it; and overall doesn't say anything beyond they never left, and the tech is all the same. The styling may be intended to obfuscate the slop-ness of it. I read it so that you don't have to.

As if nobody made personal websites because html and CSS was too difficult. Ever heard of FrontPage? Fuck me.

The article resonated with me personally, though. I taught a continuing ed course on creating personal websites (with AOLpress!) in the late 90s and had my own until giving it up in 2016 or so, but coincidentally decided to try again this month.

#10I find maintaining both Gemini and Gopher is much easier than the WEB.
