It is so incredibly bad that for years I have assumed it must be me or my specific laptop. And then the years go by I just accept it.

Anytime Apple is mentioned "comically bad search" should be mentioned. It is the association I have in my mind.

100% agree. We had to turn it off because it was too frustrating for everyone involve. Now we’re at “trust, but verify” where “verify” is looking at Screen Time stats at the end of each week. My only plausible explanation is that no one who works at Apple has kids.

Isn't it being revamped a big feature of iOS 27 ?

LLMs are eating software, maths, and LinkedIn posts; some of the image generators are seeing similar (limited) success.

Other than that, my general impression is that most people think of even the best as garbage.

("Other than". In fairness, most people thought LinkedIn posts were already garbage, it's just that it wasn't made any worse by LLMs).

Is that true with 26 as well ?

I never use CarPlay and have Siri and AI off. iOS 27 update shows as only needing 3.8gb which is surprisingly low.
