I run a small experiment on this: 29 paper-trading accounts on real US stock prices, $100k each, since July 27. Four AI models (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini) each write a trading rulebook and rewrite it every day from their own results. One account is a fixed rulebook that no AI ever touches, as a control. Result so far (paper, 34 trading days): the no-AI control is +13.0%, the S&P 500 is +3.4%, and 25 of the 28 AI…
I'm curious what signals they're trading on. SEC filings? Candlestick voodoo numerology?

#912When I first launched it was the only wish list that didn't list your name and registry on search engines. It is has grown a lot since then, and added a lot more privacy features, and the best marketing has always been doing right by users (extremely rare these days). You can see by looking up any name + the name of a wishlist/registry site and see what shows up to check at any time.
I'm working on more products following the same rule - serve users as you would your own family.

#914For 2.0 I'm trying to stay faithful to what made the original Paint but with a few quality of life improvements, like multiple tabs with image previews, cross platform support, and generally cleaning up a very old codebase that relies heavly on wxWidgets.
I've been using AI quite a bit to help maintain and modernize this 2.0 version but I want OpenPaint to remain a simple image editor that most people are familar with.
Still a work in progress, but it's been fun bringing a 17-year-old project back to life and keep the idea going.

#915I'm building https://uscodex.org . In a nutshell, the goal is to collect all US federal law in version control, and cross-link any references between different sections. Currently I have the US Code, CFR, ~30 years of public laws and congressional bills and 25 years of executive orders. Actually using raw git repos as the main data store which has worked out great since the US Code changes very little between new rel…

#916I had claude faithfully rewrite SimTower so I could play it in the browser: https://kvetch.io/conciliatower I wanted to re-play SimTower but found it too difficult to get running through emulation. Instead, I worked for 6 months with Claude Code on a complete rewrite, replicating all the functionality from a Ghidra decompilation of the binary, an AI-generated summary of the original source code and my memory of the g…

#918I'm curious about:
- how to "upcycle" end-of-life NVIDIA GPUs, like K80, M40, P100, etc.
- how to offload MoE expert calculations to MCUs with NPUs, possibly FPGAs
- how to manage a 10G LAN-attached network of older Xeon servers with the above GPUs and USB-attached MCUs as a machine learning "fabric"
- do ideas from IBM's ACP/TPF O/S (now Z/TPF) carry over?
- do ideas from IBM's Workload Manager (business priorities managed resources) carry over?
- can I bypass end-of-life CUDA driver support for older NVIDIA hardware by using Rust/Vulcan?
- can I leverage the architecture of Freetoken (MoE caching/routing, Engram, KV-cache compression) and other approaches like Baby Dragon Hatchlings, Hierarchical Reasoning Models, Tiny Recursive Models, Recurisve Language Models, Multi-token predicion, etc?
- is anyone else intersted in actually building something like this?
I've explored many of these parts individually, now combining them...

#919https://shopspec.io/ ShopSpec is a deterministic parametric furniture generator (bookshelves, cabinets, shop carts, leg-and-rail frames, multi-carcass composites) that encodes real woodworking intelligence and outputs shop-ready artifacts. Most recently, introduced the concept of value engineering by sweeping across dimensions to batch evaluate candidates that ranks based on sheet purchases. Also have in beta an MCP…
