9 years of work to "get lucky".
Again, lots of people put in 9 years of work and never get anywhere with it. The success tailwind has had is not a consequence of the work.
Just because others have worked nine years without success doesn't mean you shouldn't get credit when you put that work in and are successful.

Usually when stuff like this happens, it means that Tailwind's developers are moving to work on Shopify instead, which means Tailwind CSS itself goes into maintenance mode. This is hardly surprising after the recent string of venture-backed developer tooling acquisitions: Bun -> Anthropic, VoidZero (vite) -> Cloudflare, Astral (uv, ruff) -> OpenAI The only thing that remains to be seen is how these affect those tools going forward (and who's next)
