And to prove this point: this post went from page 1 to page 4 in a matter of hour, despite significant voteship. Posts are not ordered per count only, there's an algorithm and manually applied weighs involved.

Sure, if that is what you like. I for one did not get into this field because I wanted to hire people (artificial or natural) to write the programs for me. Programming as an activity / art is what I enjoyed the most. Managing people / agents is a total turn off.

But I am creating programs to manage the coding agents for me. Of course I am using coding agents to do that. It's turtles all the way down :-)

AI is not an abstraction and it cannot be the foundation for the next layer up, like assembly can. I think you are categorically wrong.

No disrespect intended at all, I like HN and have used it for what feels like a long time and the moderation team that keeps it one of the more reasonable places to have a conversation on the internet (for the most part).

That out of the way, The admin/moderators can hardly be unware given they work for a startup accelerator that is heavily in on the AI stuff, it is the way it is because that is the way they want it to be.

HN is great but it's bias has always skewed to what is hot in the VC market or that they are heavily in on at the time (as someone who was around when it seemed like every other post was blockchain/crypto it's not even "new").

I've been using HackerSmacker for a while to tag AI-related and non-AI-related submissions.

I find, depending on the time of day, 30-50% of submissions are about AI. Also, Users who submit AI-related content tend to also submit non-AI-related content - those I tag for non-AI-related content almost never submit AI-related content.

oh absolutely, but if they lose half their audience due to the sloppification of their front page, then they lose both legitimacy as an interesting and impartial platform to promote said AI tech
