Wowza... this is the first time in recent years Apple is introducing a mobile product that is a "change" from everything they have done in 10-years... (I want one... find phone screens too small, but don't want to carry a phone and a tablet - yes, I know there have been other offerings in the Android ecosystem, but I am not in that realm)

Remember, it scratches at a level 1, with deeper grooves at a level 2.

The Crease™ is the new Notch™ and actually a selling point.

(On review, I have better camera's on my current model - guess I will wait and see... "Duo Pro Max"... hahahaha)

Of course, the memes are already out about how large a hand you will need to use one of these... Harkens back to the "you're holding it wrong" antenna-gate controversy...

I don't think I would want this device for $500, let alone what Apple is asking. What is the appeal? There are a few screen scenarios that make sense for my life: (1) Multiple displays at desk to work; (2) TV + couch; (3) laptop + lap or surface; (4) phone (anywhere). I'm never in need of a tablet. If I needed that screen real estate, I'd be reaching for my laptop.

Well, good for Apple — at this point if they released an actual brick (I mean an actual clay brick), wrote a few Applesque things on it, showed it on stage, said stuff like "First Ever Apple Brick™," and priced it at, say, $399 (that's a conservative estimate), they still wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand. So, your loss.

I think the Duo is a really interesting product that I am not sure I would ever get, but the form factor is interesting. I don’t know if I would want it for out and about, but it is kind of the ultimate phone for around the house, which is a ridiculous thing to say, but it kind of bridges the gap to the iPad but is more handheld, which is nice.

It's very expensive.

I think Apple is using the same method airlines use when selling seats, just in reverse. Airlines start selling seats cheaper at the beginning, and as there are fewer and fewer seats, the price increases. Apple, on the other hand, is selling at a premium price for a new product category, and I believe it is, so they can get away with it for some time, and they will lower the price as they sell more. This has nothing to do with economies of scale. They already own the premium portion of the mobile phone market.

Something less available is worth more. Those who own it now can enjoy people's attention and their curious inquiries, which are worth more than money can buy for some people.

I believe this is also known as a Dutch auction. They don't know the true value of their product, so they price it high and will slowly bring it down until they are satisfied with demand.

I think the Duo looks great. And from the few hands on video I have seen I think the Apple presentation actually doesn't do it justice. There is no crease at all! [1] On the note on this year's keynote. I can't be the only one who feels the whole vibe of the keynote changed. This isn't Tim Cook style keynote and John Ternus wasted no time to try and changed a few things already. I can't wait for John to further shake…

It isn't to me, kind of revolting, physically. Very off putting, likely because of asymmetry when shut closed, but that's not an Apple problem, they all look obnoxious to me. The tech is cool. I do want an iPhone and iPad mini in one, it's that this doesn't do it for me, I expected to be floored :)

Is there a way to do it differently without making it look strange? Perhaps using a different kind of hinge so that the primary screen slides out to a side?

I had the Samsung Flip 6 and I liked it a bit in the beginning but quickly tired of having to flip it open and so I'm back to the soap bar- but otherwise this looks cool
