They were very evasive on what the inner screen was made of. I'm going to assume its the same plastic all the other folding phones are made of.

Evasive? They literally discussed the layers of materials, with the outer being a polymer.

Can’t wait until my colleague who DMed me mid presentation to get one and break it like he did with his two Samsung ones.

Steve Jobs would roll in his grave due to lack of symmetry in this.

Actually I think he would appreciate the beauty in using 1:1.4, the same as metric paper, to maintain the ratio.

$1999 is ridiculous. Edit: Wow, I didn’t know Samsung foldable was priced similarly. It’s a lot of money to pay for something inherently fragile.

The retail price of the equivalent Samsung phone is $1900 (1899) - or $2100 for their 'Ultra' phone. Seems just in line to me.

Just a reminder to everyone, always buy the second version of any new product category, even from Apple. The first duo will look primitive in a few refresh cycles. It does look really cool though!

Seems like a big engineering feat by Apple, but for real, who asked for this? Edit: Is there that many demand for a foldable iPhone that justifies Apple making such engineering investment?

Everyone in my family wants one... assuming it works well. We spend a lot of time on our phones, and a lot watching video. This seems like the ideal device for that.
