Looks like Claude Code CLI and Aider support voice dictation, Codex had it but dropped it, other CLIs like open code, copilot CLI all don't have it.
Ask HN: Anyone using dictation with coding agents?

Curious if folks are using dictation with coding agents for speach to text? Anyone completely hands-free with spoken responses from the agent as well? Anyone experimenting with tools to solve this? Anyone creating tools to solve this?

#2I prefer using Handy(https://handy.computer) with these CLI coding agents. I prefer to decouple certain things from these AI companies.

Looks like it solves the speech to text piece but not text to speech? Neat tool either way.
I am looking for any examples of people fully working with their coding agent CLI via voice alone.

Others should check out Fluid Voice as it seems privacy focused with a bit more enhancements like custom dictionary.

#8I’m a heavy user of wisprflow for speech to text and prefer html output for richer understanding. Unfortunately I don’t use a text to speech with a CLI, but want to follow this thread because I’m interested in seeing what’s available!

So privacy focused that it sends telemetry, unlike handy.
