Ask HN: Perplexity Pro vs. Claude – what are you paying for?

Can't make up my mind as my work is mainly git repo code review, blogging and research and my wife is a teacher so leaning towards perplexity pro but need suggestions on what others are using

I don’t think I’d even have perplexity on this list.

Claude or OpenAI.

I’m not sure what the value of perplexity is these days.

With all major llms looking up the web and combining results with its enormous perceived-thru-training knowledge, as well as AI-assisted results in ggl I’m not sure there’s any use case left for perplexity.

I also remember there were big product doubts originally as it was stepping into the field dominated by hugely powerful players.
