I'm a 2025 grad, and am looking for a good full time software engineering role. I've worked at Morgan Stanley as a fullstack engineer on complex services to help ingest IB documents into an internal LLM based search tool, and as an intern at a small single digit headcount startup remotely on Chromium patches to aid in web scraping. I experiment with lots of new tech constantly, especially with coding agents, and strive to improve my systems. Recently I've gotten into self-hosting my own instances of Nitter and Redlib, and created an agent harness of my own called omega to help maintain private forks of software I use, like Tailscale.

I'm particularly interested in open source, computer networking and associated software. I recently reverse engineered the Playstation app with a combination of static and dynamic techniques and automated updating metadata by pulling it straight out of the obfuscated native libraries it is embedded in. I've been constantly updating and experimenting with my NixOS config to improve security, privacy and/or add more self-hosted services. Back in college I hacked around and built a peer to peer file transfer program to learn Rust, including the file transfer protocol too (you can check it out on https://github.com/gotlougit/p2p-file-transfer or on https://git.sr.ht/~gotlou/p2p-file-transfer). I did this mostly being inspired by Tailscale and also out of frustration of how getting uncompressed photos from friends was a mess.

Self-taught AI engineer, two years building, four months at a startup. Strongest at the unglamorous half: retrieval that retrieves, evals you can trust, knowing how a system fails.

Shipped a Spanish occupational-safety RAG assistant over the INSHT/NTP corpus: hybrid retrieval with cross-encoder reranking, Hit@8 0.98 / MRR 0.955 on a 50-question human-labeled golden set, evals gating CI. Its LLM judge turned out to be decorative — its labeled set had no negatives, so it had never once rejected an answer. Rebuilt it with reference-aware prompting and nine adversarial negatives, revalidated at TPR/TNR 1.00 on a 14-item meta-labeled set. Small set, and I say so.

Building in public: Docent, issue triage for pydantic/pydantic. ~1.5k resolved issues ingested as a hybrid RAG corpus via GitHub GraphQL fetchers and Celery pollers, hybrid keyword + vector retrieval with reranking and score merging, three of five agent phases live (intake → research → draft), research calling the GitHub MCP server as a client.
