Matt Yglesias wants digital transit passes to work on Apple Watch for Kids watches.
This is a much more niche feature, but I agree it’s an annoying Apple Wallet gap. It’s likely a syncing issue; Apple Watch for Kids has a parent’s phone configure the watch in proximity initially, then does most things via sync thereafter, and Wallet isn’t focused on sync.
So MY’s title there is being deliberately provocative.
