It would be more useful if next to "remote" it also shows where the company actually is. I am sure many people don't want to work for us companies. Otherwise cool project

I did the exact same thing[1] (minus the AI matching)—in fact, using the public HN firebase API, as you can see. So I fundamentally reject this premise. I had it running for years and no one complained and it scored me a few contracts because I also did a "Show HN:" and some folks liked it. Of course tends to be built by people who don’t find it creepy, not really changing anyone’s mind with that line of argument. And you just found plenty of people who consider it creepy and will complain today.

I suppose I could look backwards instead of forwards. Tbf, at this hour, it hadn't even occurred to me.
I wouldn't bother unless you just want to try to compile stats. The active job seekers and the open positions from more than a month ago probably aren't valid today.
It's a bit like backtesting, in finance. Quite useful to establish whether your algorithm is sane and coherent, no use at all in determining if it is actually useful, to my understanding.

Is it illegal for an interviewer to know what university you attended? I better change my resume.

If anyone was depending on this to actually make interview decisions, yes, that would be something a candidate might do. Fortunately there's not that pressure on this project. :D
