Nice interface (though the cursor/pins feel very fidgety) to scraped data. Not very satisfying when you can't compare photos of the location with the on-screen version.
Thanks! I have thought about how to put "compare photos of the location with the on-screen version" on the map. Have not just found out how yet. Would love to add that because that would have been so cool!
It would be interesting to have some filters; I'm mainly interested in genre (more romance is Paris ? more fantasy in Iceland ?), box office earnings (are all blockbusters in Hollywood / Vancouver ?) and review.
Three Nuts for Cinderella lists Moritzburg in Halle and Dresden as filming location, but only Dresden is correct.
How did that happen? Do you derive the information from the english wiki article only?
Oh this is fun! I've done something very similar but for narrative settings (rather than filmed locations) at https://historical-moviemap.inneuro.ai/ and was thinking it would be interesting to extend filmed locations as well... Looks like you got there first !
I am glad that you like it! I do not look at other websites before beginning a project, I just work with ideas which I personally find interesting and hope for the best.
Neat ! It would be interesting to have some filters; I'm mainly interested in genre (more romance is Paris ? more fantasy in Iceland ?), box office earnings (are all blockbusters in Hollywood / Vancouver ?) and review.
Great work. I feel like these 'consolidation of the internet into one specialist format' sites are one area where the non-corporate Internet can still flourish. This is much less niche than my own project! And there is still room for this to grow. I zoomed in on my home area and it is missing a fairly famous film (with a wikipedia page) that was filmed there.
I like to be creative, but I also like that people actually want to use my stuff. This has never ever happened before I started creating interactive maps.
There are many missing items. The difficulty is to fill the map without spamming it too much.
