Love it and totally agree. The comfort we think we need is nothing else than hedonic adaptation.

I don’t disagree that I could survive without the comfort, and I would probably get used to the discomfort after a while and wouldn’t think about it as much. What I don’t understand is why it is bad to have gotten used to modern luxuries, or why my life would be better if I gave those up and lived more primitively. Probably because we waste years and years of our lifes chasing these things instead of being present and enjoying life as it is?

I don't agree. It's a description of a simple hunter gatherer life. Why do you say this has never existed?

Why would you think that a neolithic existence is simple and free from politics etc. Still humans.
