I launched on Product Hunt and all I got was spam email

I launched a chrome extnsion there and had almost the same experience. One of the products above me was where startups literally pay to become pieces of a snake and move toward the head. Whoever pays the most gets the head and so on and so on. It had 73 upvotes. Super scammy shit being upvoted was a sign of bots to me, so I wouldn't take it seriously. The site seemed kind of shitty to me.

That's interesting, when I was preparing to launch I saw an app with the same concept where startups "buy" their country on a world map. Some of the countries like Norway were "premium countries" so they cost extra for placement. I doubt anyone will think of that site in a couple of weeks. I thought it was kind of novel but I've now seen a couple more that are just blatant cash grabs like that.

Slow progress, but better than what product hunt made it look :) 10 active users on the chrome store, but even a small amount of strangers installing and keeping it feels way more real than that snake bullshit I saw upvoted.
