Yes, I think climate change is real and we need to fix it. Droughts have been recorded in history for centuries, long before climate change would have ever existed.
Let’s fix the climate, let’s also try and be rational about historical regional weather patterns.

I don't know if it is gloating so much as it is recognition that unlike most injustice that happens in the world the people most responsible for it are going to suffer at least some of the consequences along with the hoi polloi. A refreshing change of pace, even if the end result is horribly tragic for everyone.
I know this is controversial but I doubt this heat wave is entirely human made. Europe has gone through long arid periods in this past.

Perhaps the cutting and removal of the trees also plays a factor? They suck in water over their life, then once they are cut the forest loses that moisture.
Anyway your concern about losing moisture stored in trees isn't really warranted, the tree does not give back moisture.

That video is quite biased. Just tell your clanker to critique it. It will point out that those numbers are quite cherry picked, and leaving out important details. E.g. the „GHG would reduce by only 2.6%“ study assumes that all crop production stays the same, which doesn’t make any sense.
