As long as the same lens is applied equally to far-right and white supremacist groups, then this is fine. This question is rhetorical with this administration, however.

Yes, some groups which you would call that have also been designated as terrorist organizations by the US.

January sixers got collective pardons and a pat on the head. (Plus a bunch of money IIRC?)

American companies have contested warrants have they not? The jump from request to warrant is not the major hurdle. Imo people often make the wrong tradeoff here. If the government really wants something jurisdictional questions will not stop them. You're actually inviting them to just steal it at that point. Better to keep things in the US where there will at least be a clear paper trail. And instead of wasting mone…

To be fair, most US companies aren’t particularly sympathetic to radical politics, and many will cave in with only a little pressure. There may also be concerns of a secret FISA warrant. The downside of hosting overseas is that you’re exposing yourself to the full NSA toolkit, without the usual fig leaf of legal protection. Dark web P2P is probably the best option. You forget that a portion of the radical left truly…

We know that the NSA is spying on every American, and every communication they make no what the source or destination. Sending traffic overseas might cause the collected data to surface more often or be subjected to additional scrutiny but it's all going to be collected and scanned over either way.

The state department only designates foreign terrorist organizations, as far as I know.

What were the Zines evidence of? Protected speech? We have days worth of footage of storming the Capital and yet dozens were given full pardons. They're political charges.

> What were the Zines evidence of? Protected speech? Evidence of conspiracy. > We have days worth of footage of storming the Capital and yet dozens were given full pardons. They're political charges. So just because something bad was allowed to happen, any other bad thing should be allowed?

> So just because something bad was allowed to happen, any other bad thing should be allowed?

I was illustrating that the charges levied were politically motivated from the highest levels, as proof that they don't seriously care about political criminality unless it suits them. If the Jan 6th charges stuck, it'd be a different conversation entirely.

They are illegitimate because they have already proven disregard for the law.

Really best for the US to get rid of the zionism ties. I'm fine with US imperialism, which actually benefits us, not this bs where we spend all our money and diplomatic strength on some other country.

Supporting imperialism, any imperialism, simply is wrong. Is this really all that humanity amounts to in 2026? Thinking about imposing its own hegemony on others, the way kings did with their subjects in the Middle Ages? Massacring defenceless peoples like the Palestinians? Behaving like the Nazis? And expecting that no one will respond to such abuses and when they do, calling them terrorists? Are you really okay wit…

Different arguments for different audiences.

Some people respond to moral arguments directly.

But even if you're all about extractive imperialism, you can make a case for "starting fires in your own backyard is going to be costly for you, especially in the long term."

So, you must support AWS and MS getting sanctioned for supporting the IDF, which has committed many more acts of terror and far worse forms of it. Right?

Yes. Especially if the collaboration was done on purpose, not just as a neutral provider (A/I is not one).

Well, they never will be. So that reveals the real intention behind this action, like someone else said: elimination of human rights and political persecution. This has nothing to do with terrorism, since the people doing it are happy to be inflicting terror globally.

The ADL has a whole page[1] listing examples of her supposed antisemitism but it basically seems to just be examples of her criticising Israel. I guess the ADL considers that to be the same thing but it is pretty unpersuasive unless you think every criticism of Israel is automatically antisemitism. 1: https://www.adl.org/resources/article/francesca-albanese-her...

Every day it seems a little weirder how many of these other countries are apparently passively tolerating the US/Google/Apple/etc-centric nature of parts of their internal economy.

The US had THAT much trust, not necessarily influence, which just went down the drain.

In Europe, "US had trust" only in the "free" european media, and among politicians..

People knew and know quite well what US was and is, besides the leading academia (many, if not most, lured there by money from other countries) and the holywood circus.

And no, it is not "because of Trump".

> By my reading of just a few of the quotes I'd say she's going well beyond just criticizing Israel. The quotes suggest she believes well known antisemitic conspiracy theories.[0]

I'm assuming you're mainly referring to this accusation by the ADL:

"Albanese claims that Jews “have learnt [sic] that to survive in this world they need to be superior,” invoking the classic antisemitic conspiracy trope of Jewish power and drive for world domination."

Well, except that isn't what she said. The original quote was (still not the full post):

"And so they [Germans] have accepted the Jews, but not all of them. Especially those who have learnt that to survive in this world they need to be superior. No longer a fragile minority. No longer diasporic people. No longer the People of the Book. But the Chosen People. ‘Chosen to dominate?’ One may wonder looking at what Israel has become. But Israel does not represent all the Jews."

So she was talking about Israeli Jews, not Jews in general. That's the whole point of her post. It's ironic that in fact the ADL is being antisemitic here by equating Judaism with Israel.
