One of his best roles was Darkness in Legend, but seems like everyone has Alzheimer and forgot this great movie from Ridley Scott.
I remember it well. It definitely has some memorable images in it.

I literally watched this a couple days ago. James Earl Grey (Jack Ryan"s boss in the movie) is gone too.

#233My first movie that introduced me to Tim Curry was Home Alone 2. It was maybe first few Hollywood Movies that I watched with parents(non-english speaking). Now I'm 42yrs old, and when my parents visit me, I watch Home Alone 2 with them. It has somewhat become a family tradition now. Thank you Tim for such a memorable moments. Great actor!
I wonder when is a suitable age to introduce Home Alone to my son…maybe 8 years old is good enough?

#234I often chuckle at the observation that Tim Curry and Michael Caine's respective roles in the Muppet films were so beloved because Michael Caine acted like all the muppets were real actors, and Tim Curry acted like he was a muppet. He would have an impressive range of serious / comedic roles anyway, but I admire the ability for an actor that successful to be able to put himself be in such a silly role that well too.
Yeah, I've never understood this observation. The entire shtick of The Muppets was that every celebrity they ever had on the show treated them like real actors and celebrities. Not even "famous Muppets", just straight up celebs.

It's a fun myth but Parton and Curry already come fast on the heels of a few recent celebrity deaths: Sam Neill, Bonnie Tyler, Daveigh Chase, Hayden Panettiere, and Lindsay Graham.

My daughter first watched HA when she was around 8. It’s one of her favourite movies. She generally doesn’t like movies or even cartoons, something about the tension they build. But HA she loves.

#237I was disheartened that there was no mention of his voice role as Auntie Whispers in Over the Garden Wall in this thread. It's an autumn tradition in my family to watch that entire animated series and that's one of my favorite episodes.

There’s a difference between the script calling for the actor to treat the Muppets as real, and the actor actually thinking of the Muppets as real actors. In a Muppet production, that’s often what separates a good performance from a great one.
