Bluesky's community is more toxic than X has ever been. I'd rather hang out on 4chan.

Bluesky's blocking and muting tools are quite good. You don't actually have to interact with anyone that you don't want to interact with.

That and a default feed that is literally "posts from people I follow, in chronological order" with no concept of the platform inserting promoted or sponsored content in the feed. The worst I might see is someone I follow re-sharing / quoting something I don't want to see, and if that happens I can unfollow that individual, I can mute that post, I can mute the user the post originally came from, or I can block any of the accounts involved.

Never had an X account, never will. Now I'm completely locked out of police reports & municipal updates in my area because it's the only platform they post on.

That's what we call cutting off your nose to spite your face, and it's generally not a good idea, but it is completely on you.

Why would I leave when it's a more engaging and vibrant platform than ever before? As well as still being just as useful, if not more so.

Nah, it's just the standard enshitification playbook. It'll start out nice, open, useful, fun; then once they have enough users and the network effect kicks in, they'll lock it down and turn it into a weapon against its users. Happens every time.
