What exactly do you mean by "this issue"? In the topic presented there is really no relevance to Israel being a Jewish state. This is a nation state acting nefariously to protect its interests, something I am quite sure many nations are either doing right now or will shortly start doing. e.g. I could absolutely picture Russia doing exactly this. > He was a devout Catholic, had Jewish friends, and devoted a chapter to…

And yet, it's rare we read similar accounts from Denmark, Colombia, Taiwan, etc, etc, etc.

Or Russia, Iran, China, USA etc. Are you saying USA has done nothing to try and influence the rest of the world? CIA would never try and influence others

It's already been everywhere for years. The most obvious one is any time someone says something bad about Russia or China, a load of comments pop up to say "Yeah but what about when america does ?". Never actually attempting to discredit the statement, just to steer it towards the US The sheer volume of comments make it super obvious when it happens compared to normal conversation

> The sheer volume of comments make it super obvious... Does it though? Remember that the Global South outnumbers the west in terms of population. And the west isn't really as politically popular as westerners like to believe: - Why do some people support Russia's war in Ukraine? - https://politics.stackexchange.com/questions/81254/why-do-so... - Why isn't the Global South pro-Israel like the West? - https://politics…

The weirdness is how quickly and randomly those comments show up. Back when I used Reddit, I could mention some sensitive topic in a random place and there'd instantly be what I think are bots voting and commenting on it, sometimes huge comments with tons of links that looked canned.

Apparently just one genocide against the Jews per 100 years simply isn't enough for you.

If you think having a particular ethnicity in charge is equivalent to endorsing genocide, you miiiiiight be a little bit racist.

> If you think having a particular ethnicity in charge is equivalent to endorsing genocide, you miiiiiight be a little bit racist.

The democratically elected government of the Palestinians in Gaza(Hamas) has for a long time quite openly advocated for effectively genocide Jews/Israeli's, it's not racist to simply believe that Hamas is telling the truth in regards to what their end goals are.

Tankie. Possibly mechanized (AI) tankie, these days.

Sure, criticism of NATO is always pro-Russian disinfo. Just as with Israel and being antiseptic.

Israel has carried out a massively destructive war of aggression against civilians, and NATO .. hasn't.

If only there was a solution on the table that's been there for years and that one side refuses to accept over and over again. And that can put a stop to bombing or dirt or whatever. Two state solution.

Or a one state solution with a Palestinian leader.

The only solution that has ever worked in that region was 0-state. ie they were governed by some larger empire. Some call the US the empire this time, but it's not.

No one is doing it as much as Israel does, Russia's influence campaigns are well documented, often weak, lack the "forcefulness" you see when it comes to Israel. The thing is that messaging from Russia, China, Arab countries ... have to be very subtle else it's visible and immediately gets called out. Israel on the other hand sees itself as part of the collective west and think they have the right to be as laud as th…

> "No one is doing it as much as Israel does" How could you possibly know that? Do you have any numbers that put Israel's efforts into perspective, compared to those of other countries? This is not a good faith argument whatsoever.

There are uncensored interviews of former CIA agents conducted by credible reporters like Seymour Hersh. In The Samson Option, several witnesses confirm that Israel had unprecedented access to US spy satellites and convinced the CIA to cover up the (extremely controversial) Dimona facility.

Both of those "favors" are beyond anything that most US allies received at the time, especially at Israel's size. Even America's closest postwar allies like the UK, Sweden and Japan did not get that type of diplomatic cover, it was exclusive to Israel.

The social graph is the source of the fake news and manipulation. Before social media the social graph was email and it was all the same slop and misinformation. Before that it was literally physical mail. Look up chain letters. Truly nothing is new. If I certify my racist thanksgiving ruining uncle is a real person that doesn’t actually help you avoid misinformation. I honestly don’t care if the information I consum…

I don't think you understand what I mean by public social graph. What I mean is that anybody could publish or withdraw statements of two forms: - "I, owner of account A, certify that owner of account B is human." - "I, owner of account C, have a reason to trust/distrust the certification of account A about account B." The collection of these statements would be the public social graph. The social graph would then be…

Totally would not be abused. Don’t like politican/journalist/etc A? Let’s just mass report as fake person.

This is exactly how bubbles of influence appear. Rarely do people from different leanings (social, political, economical etc) have spheres of opinion which intersect, and therefore get trapped in areas of general agreement. The social graph cannot be trusted to create a generally trusted source, because peoples innate distrust of things which differ from their own opinion skew this model heavily.

I've also found this to be true, but also only in relatively modern times. For instance during the Cold War there was an obscene amount of propaganda, but it was mostly true. For instance the wide array of cheap affordable goods in American shelves was constantly flaunted, but not in the least bit misleading. I don't understand the modern effort to engage in 'information warfare' as a thing in and of itself. Each tim…

The difference between American and Russian propaganda is that Russians know it's propaganda.

Not sure it is true. If it was true that all Russians know it’s just propaganda and that they are just engaged in an illegal genocide then less Russians would sign up for the army.

Who is saying that? And by acknowledging that the land was bought pre-war you're also acknowledging that the (explicitly colonial) Zionist project pre-dates the Holocaust. So it has nothing to do with "nowadays", that was more than 100 years ago.

The commenter referenced 1947. And said from nowadays PERSPECTIVE about THAT time that it's a "bigoted state project". I just reminded them that the project got its population (50%+) from Jews that ran for their lives. So his NOWADAYS perspective about that time is crazy. As from the first moment, it was about protecting Jews. The only other alternative at the time was the US, but with limited immigration after WW2,…

It's bigoted because it's exclusionary state for Jews, most everyone else is second class, including people on defacto annexed lands in the rest of former Palestine. Other people are such a low-life dirt to this state, that they just bomb, kidnap, steal and kill whoever they want regardless of state soveregnty. No thought to how that may make population of other state feel. Today they just bombed yet another country that did not do anything to them, because why not.

If it was not bad optics, and europe would not have the power to really fuck them up by actually cutting trade and giving them their own medicine, they'd be bombing europe these days for all the imagined wrongdoings.
