I also believe in a free market, and power should be subsidised equally per MW (MWh maybe?) this takes the politics out of a structural necessity. If you want to push a political agenda - great - but do it on political topics.

All kinds of power generation are typically heavily subdized in some way. I do not think this "common sense" strategy exists.
There's a really strong incentive to keep energy generation cheap, because pretty much every social and political issue is downstream of it.
Parts of the world are literally on fire but the US is redirecting money to halt renewables and towards gas. The demand for energy is higher than ever due to AI data centers, but I guess the next model is more important than a habitable environment.

These guys had already signed a deal to build - giving them permission and probably an agreed price - the money was to persuade them to give that up.
Hopefully they take the money and use to to build more wind turbines in Europe I guess. Absolutely shameful what the USA has become.

Insane. Over the last year, wind - mostly offshore - has generated more than 35% of electricity here. Gas is down to 27%. It's really, really good. And it looks cool.
Not great for the wildlife during drilling but it's better than the carbon rich alternatives.

The LNG plant is being built in Texas which are covered with turbines, and they absolutely do not look cool.
Compared to coal plants, which are _extremely_ cool-looking. /s
Why are they scared shitless of wind power? What's the deal? I don't get it. Like, they seem to be more determined to stop wind power than solar power. Why?
