When in the heck is Congress gonna get some backbone and hold this clown accountable. Tariffs and citizenship has been ruled on the Supreme court. Whether it's those rulings or not deporting immigrats as ordered by judges, this administration does what the hell it wants. And the cynicism is even in our face. During the citizenship case at scotus, the government's attorney was asked something to the effect of what hap…

Strategy. The GOP isn't even trying to hold him back any more because they know they're probably going to lose control of Congress at the mid-terms, at which point they know the Democrats will be licking their chops to impeach him. Then they can feign indignation, and possibly a few GOP votes if necessary, for a successful impeachment. After that, they'll have the President they want, JD Vance, with a potential 10 year term.

I wouldn't breathe easy about birthright citizenship yet. Trump v. Barbara was a relatively narrow 6-3 ruling, with Kavanaugh's concurrence hinging on a separate federal law rather than the 14th amendment itself.

How such a very plan and clear amendment is only barely upheld by the Supreme Court is a travesty, and there's every reason to believe it could go the other way with the right combination of case specifics and arguments.

That's precisely why Trump created another executive order -- his administration agrees with my take that the Roberts court may uphold the order when they bring it before the court again.

> When in the heck is Congress gonna get some backbone and hold this clown accountable. It's not a problem of backbone. Republicans (the majority group) in Congress clearly want the fraud to continue if you match their behavior and their words.

There's no doubt the gop is cravenly criminal. Yes, there are plenty of democrats who were/are criminal too but the trump administration is a whole other level of corruption by comparison.

Speaking of democrats: how out of touch and how operationally ineffective do you have to be to lose to trump twice? A lot. Like systemic institutional failure bad. Dems are not so corrupt relative to trump, but their level of ineffective clulessness is cosmically big. So let's not get too righteous about the other side.

Washington dc is rotten. Rotten to core. Rotten by us to us. Immigrants, Russia, Iran, China didn't do it. We did it to ourselves. Moreover I have no sympathy for belt way insiders. You poisoned your own institution.

Two more bad consequences are increasing polarization --- swing hard right then left then right --- while deficit, security, interest payments, debt, fairness under the law go worse. Far left has its own set of problems potentially with similar greed in extended power centers

In the near term it puts the wind at the back of populism for the little guy because as of now re: trump draining the swamp? Maga voters sing it with me:

I heard it in a love song. Heard it in a love song. I heard it in a loooovvve song. Can't be wrong (Marshall Tucker band)

Meaning? Of course it's wrong. Wrong by intention and wrong by construction. You were told what you wanted to hear, and you ate it hook line and sinker. How can anybody believe trump could handle and serious responsibility?

Trump is getting his and there's nothing you can do about it for the next two years baring religious level miracles.

The 14th was about giving freed slaves citizenship, not anyone who happens to give birth in the USA.

> Stop pearl clutching. If we are going to start judging morality, we can start looking at the Clintons (good friends with Epstein), the Bidens (His daughter has some really interesting things about what happened when she was little and his son Hunter? I think we can safely say that there are no morals here and the media ran cover for him). Even Bill Gates was on the island, best friends with Epstein, and there was almost no mention of it in the tech community.

> We need to hold everyone accountable, not just when it's politically convenient.

You stop your pearl clutching first. We have someone who just ignores the rule of law when he doesn't like it. Including the Supreme Court.

Guess who hasn't been President for what... 30 years? Hillary was never President. Hunter Biden? Again, not President. Joe Biden? He quit before he showed a fraction of the mental incapacity of our current President.

Don't defend BS behavior just because YOU believe "the other side", who haven't been relevant in years, did it too.

At this point you are repeating conspiracy theories rather than presenting facts. Convicted felon? Nah, it's a conspiracy. Rapist? Only 28+ women have come out. But again, that is a conspiracy too.

Meanwhile, you can paste together Truth Social posts, live videos, and show EVERY DAY you are being told lies, and not even good ones, but you accept it blindly.

How's that Iran war going for you? It's Friday tomorrow, so clearly the US or Iran will attack and then next Monday when the markets are open, peace comes again and the 432nd war has been stopped.

Just stop. It's lacking any intellectual integrity

He “quit” because it became apparent he had a fraction of the mental capacity of the current president. Or people just hated him more than Trump. It’s strange that he won and then had to bow out in the contest.
