> Citizens most certainly do own the country.. To the extent that the land claimed as part of the United States belongs to and is controlled by the United States, it belongs to the people. Citizens are the beneficiaries of a trust. The land is held in a trust. That is not the same thing as ownership . Think about it: in some other countries you can't even outright own land. That should indicate to you that your notio…
>Citizens are the beneficiaries of a trust. The land is held in a trust. That is not the same thing as ownership. Citizenship is the most absolute (though diluted) ownership possible. I own a car, but if I commit a crime heinous enough I can have that confiscated as a penalty. On the other hand, in the United States there is no crime for which my citizenship can be revoked. What about the other elements of ownership?…
I don't care what you think - this isn't a creative writing exercise. Trust is the technical term describing the legal framework for much of the land in the United States

I'm not gonna respond to the rest because you're clearly just going off vibes and feelings.

I mean, are YOU going to try to stop them?
People write stuff like this and get all pissy when I say yes, and that we have been doing this work for a long time. Then get all righteous and start talking about democracy and then no-true-scotsman all the actual things folks do to curtail the actions of the state. It's wild, but the flip side is that since I am on that side of things I have a much better picture of what it might actually be possible when folks un…
Anything at all helps.

I will remember that you don't care what I think or want... so that when I hear you and yours whining after you lose another election, it will be music for me. Since no one owns any country, you will of course be encouraged to move abroad, where you will no doubt be welcomed for the progressive hero that you are.
Lol my man have you looked at the polls lately

The first real example it opens with, is a criminal. For the rest of ICE detainees, don’t care. Again, we have 10s of millions of backlog of illegal entries, overstays, visa violations etc. No one knows how many 10s of millions, but it is eight figures worth. Most of the illegal entries we have essentially no way of getting or knowing who they are. Collecting their biometrics to include DNA that might be found at fut…
ICE are killing 1 person per week this year. They've tried to game that number down by releasing people as they're about to die from custody. This is a large well organized semi-military force with the backing of the state ($ Billions) literally terrorizing and killing people. They are clearly trafficking humans. If I had to guess, you consume a lot of entertainment media.
And especially by your own acknowledgment they are mostly dying in US hospitals built for Americans providing the best available care at the expense of US taxpayers and healthcare consumers.
Numerically they are safer in ICE custody than at large either in the USA or back where they belong.
