After all this time it's still a pain point just to pay them for a Gemini API key.

So crazy, at one point they had 3 different systems for interacting with Gemini, all with different auth.

For a company that prides themselves on the smartest engineers, they really struggle with the basics

Those controlled by LLM's maybe ain't.

Here with google the LLM is even local, but will be fun with the cloud controlled robots, where the company got overwhelmed and silently uses a weaker model at certain times. With fun results.

It’s basically because LLMs supersede all of these. The ability to reason, research, and write code applies to everything else and will speed up the innovation cycles there significantly.

It's ok, we get it you don't want one. I would happily pay $20k-$30k for one if it worked well. I know a lot of people who would.

Also if the robot is ultimately controlled by Musk or Altman?

I do want a robot serviant. But running AI that I control. Here it google says it can "And this profound intelligence can also run locally on-device", that makes it interesting for me.

Mm, however the more I experience of the world, the more I find this matches the description up-thread:

Is it messed up and weird? Yup. Still normal though. Worse, this is matching the baseline of competence I find in so many other places.
