Coding is anything but cheap. You speak like someone who has completely forgotten how difficult it was to learn everything you now know by heart.
Coding litterally is cheap. We outsource it for wages that you'd expect of a bottom-level fast food employee. We've been doing that for many years. It doesn't take a 4 year education to learn how to use loops, functions, and basic data structures. Most of you could probably code by the end of your fresan year of college. Many probably learned at least some coding before college. I've learned plenty since those days.…

The post-Microsoft meta is that glitches are valid game mechanics. TNT duping has been in the game longer than Notch controlled the game. But some other glitches get fixed.
This goes for most games where glitches end up becoming protected features. Being fun is more important than being correct.

How do you measure fun? People will always rush to that excuse if it's not properly defined. And not everyone finds the same things fun. Especially if you are looking to try and 10x your audience.
Patching it out would be more “correct” but serve to only limit user creativity and inventions.

#475> We’ve reached a point where an update to macOS — or to any app I rely on, really — is a source of dread rather than excitement. I now expect the new version to be worse. I actually relate to that. It used to be cool and exciting to update to see what new things are coming for free. I was just looking up what Fedora Workstation 45 might bring. Updates on phones, TV's, cars and non-Linux operating systems on PC's/lap…
As a Fedora user, I can say very clearly that Fedora is also very buggy...

#476The ability to generate a lot of code will not solve any of these issues.

You know what software doesn't fill me with dread to update? FOSS. Proprietary software isn't built for users anymore. But (some) FOSS still is.

Current business model: venture capital is the end-user now. Grow the investment by addicting customers to some distraction. Nothing else matters.

Arch is bleeding edge. Breakage is expected there. It breaks so others can be stable. Thank you for your service.
So many Linux user problems are self inflicted. It’s almost a demonstration why proprietary platforms limit your options so much when users choose to shove a stick in their bike spokes and complain it let them do that.

And don't get me started on OS updates...
