I'm thinking iron pyrite. One of the ways it can oxidise will smell of rotten eggs, and its presence in concrete can destroy the structure.

Now that bullshit about a golden age of science is obviously bullshit, I wonder how long it will take our supposed tech industry leaders to unhook their lips from Trump's rear end and admit that authoritarian, racist, sexist, anti-science politics isn't good for tech.
