The famous writer Umberto Eco grew up under Mussolini.

In an essay called Ur (Eternal) Fascism[0], he described how totalitarian systems are anti-scientific and instead promote religion, "the old ways," and gambling.

Now that bullshit about a golden age of science is obviously bullshit, I wonder how long it will take our supposed tech industry leaders to unhook their lips from Trump's rear end and admit that authoritarian, racist, sexist, anti-science politics isn't good for tech.
