I'd be interested to read his updated version, perhaps reflecting the onset of the AI paradigm. Surely it's on his mind.

He does not use AI. I saw a recent interview with him in which he talked a bit about gen AI.

I think he will change his stance though. The rate of development is a phenomenon in itself, and I would bet me booboos that at some point, he will concede. Whether he admits it or not, well..
