I click. I see an anime girlie bot challenge screen. I hear zoomer pop in ~32k 16-bit stereo. I see JavaScript animations and a seizure-inducing vibecoded layout. I close the tab. "Miss the old web?" The author wasn't even born then.

Well I am on the millennial/Gen Z cusp, and I think the new "old web" is a recreation of the corner of the Internet that puts humans before bots (as opposed to faithfully recreating it). Then again this website feels like it's doing a little too much.

Also, this seems exactly like what the classic web would’ve looked like if we’d had the ability to do it.
