Why move to a thread that is clearly a copy of my post, created 2 hours after mine?
Most probably we re-upped the other thread after doing the merge and that caused the timestamp on it to get relativized in a way that is, admittedly, confusing. More on that here: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&que....

Your post was created later - you can tell this from the item IDs. I think the other post was about 53 minutes earlier. Most probably we re-upped the other thread after doing the merge and that caused the timestamp on it to get relativized in a way that is, admittedly, confusing. Ah, ok, thanks for the explanation. I didn't want to create a duplicate; I checked to see if anyone posted it, but didn't see it at the time.
