#3I just hide the dock. I don't need it -- I use Spotlight to launch apps and Cmd+Tab or Rcmd to access them. The Dock is a waste of space for me.

Yeah and much more (think all in one), it's a companion app — good for quick temporary drops, but also for keeping important files together and easy to reach throughout. I wrote my thoughts here: https://hachipoo.com/best-mac-file-shelf-dockside

Dockside can sit next to the Dock or without it as well, btw
