I'm not saying it's 100% a stunt.

Well I've enjoyed making little "flash" like games with AI. I have a SKILL.md for how to build out a pico8 game that it updates when it finishes a game.

I give it an rough idea, or none and have it make a game.

See if there something here you enjoy to convince you I do think AI can slowly as they improve make more variety of lightweight 15 minute games.

I think it's fair to say plenty of people have been satisfied, and even pleased, with the policies and actions of their government. There isn't one objective measure.

I remember the arguments back then. Those alarmists were wrong. Nothing happened or could've happened just because you could generate drunken ramblings. It's the kind of people that want to ban anything because of some theoretical small harm is technically possible. We're lucky it's not more prevalent or we'd still be in the stone age.

It wasn't just "drunken ramblings," they were right about the dangers they called out. Reddit is largely LLMs arguing with each other, it's so easy and only costs a few thousand dollars to spin up a mass misinformation campaign.

They were right about the risks.

And if they didn't have this all of HN would rant about how they aren't even telling you that their best model is unavailable, despite having a subscription.

If they tell you, it's a marketing stunt; if they don't, they're being deceptive.

A requirement of digital sovereignty is the ability to build competitive digital companies. It seems unlikely to me at this point that the EU is going to turn that ship around.

This is the time for the EU to offer favorable terms to Anthropic and deferred regulation. Give 'em an escape hatch.

For American AI models better than Opus 4.8. The much-decried EU AI Act provides a safe, predictable regulatory framework to base ones AI development on. It provides legal stability compared to unpredictable arbitrary decisions by the US executive. If AI companies have any sort of sense in them, they'd be well-advised to consider relocating to Europe.

The EU AI Act killed Mistral. It's not a stable or reasonable base.

I'm surprised about that. I'm not up to speed on the current situation (though I did find this, which may be of interest[0][1]), last I heard was a few months ago when they stopped banning people for using 3rd party software on the subs and started charging extra usage for it instead.

In this case it's automating the official software, which was a grey area (e.g. claude -p). And is now apparently totally cool. Except seems to also be switching to extra usage on June 15th[0][1].

The ACP thing seems to be in the same category as claude -p, billing-wise, from what I gathered[2].
