Yes, it’s quite common for people to stay in abusive relationships, which can certainly include sexual abuse or rape.

Someone should look in to that, seems illogical.

Assuming you're commenting in good faith, it has been looked into and it's a well-known behavior of those who are in abusive relationships. You can read more about it here:

I am sure you can find many others with a simple search. It should help to inform you better for the future.

The good news is that people have looked into it! And not just in a modern-slop-journalism kind of way, but in a serious, rigorous kind of way. And many of the resulting scientific papers are published online and available for you to read!

> Schmidt has denied the accusations under oath. The arbitrator said that Ritter did “everything she could possibly do” to avoid discussing the rape accusations under oath. Uh huh. Everyone knows that it's physically impossible to lie under oath. I don't believe you, Mr. Arbiter.

The point of that isn't "what is said under oath is guaranteed true" rather "one side isn't worried about perjury for their claims if they are indeed lying while the other avoids making their claims under oath".

Also, it doesn't make sense to address this arbiter as "Mr." - You can read a bit about her here https://www.courts.wa.gov/appellate_trial_courts/bios/?fa=at...

Women falsely accuse men of rape and other serious crimes all the time. Isn't it better that he choose a judicial (or quasi-judicial) method to discourage this behavior rather than extrajudicial?

“All the time” meaning, what, specifically? Is there a reason you added this clear load of bullshit at all, or is it pure “virtue” signaling, for your given brand of “virtue”?

We had a chilling case in NZ recently. Woman got so drunk she puked in Uber and got kicked out. So she complained she got raped, but was found guilty of false claims. Got 12 months of home supervision whatever that is.

I find it hard to believe that someone who was willing to bring false rape allegations would be unwilling to perjure themselves under oath. I also don't really care what the gender of the arbiter is.

Mrs. The arbiter was a female progressive judge, if that matters. What she’s hinting at is the avoidance of speaking to details, perhaps to avoid perjury.
