The gap between “block on first signal” and “ignore the signal entirely” exists, and it is not small.
The gap between "block transaction" and "don't block transaction" is nonexistent and that's the only thing that actually matters. What else are you, as a payment processor, gonna do besides block a transaction? Allow the transaction but send the user a sternly worded email?

No. This is what you’re saying because you want to plead your case to find out as much as you can. Saying less works. Everyone knows this, because it’s true. You just don’t like it.
Sounds like your projecting a bit.

stripe serves both sides of the transactions they process, seller and buyer. if buyers were to perceive stripe as being dificult , they might churn. i certainly do this on paypal pages.
If you keep doing chargeback, then churning is a good thing
my paypal aversion stems from interacting with the service. ex: charges show in my CC but are not listed on paypal account

#256Hey, I'm Jacob. I lead Radar engineering at Stripe (our fraud product). First, I’m sorry. We know this kind of fraud abuse is maddening. This is not the experience we want our users to have. The point many people have made here is fair. That this is not just about whether Stripe can reverse a specific dispute after the fact; it’s about whether clear evidence of chargeback abuse can help protect the next business. We…
That said, I don't think you're really addressing the main point on my post. There is clear evidence here of intentional fraud, yet Stripe does nothing with it.
And from what I gathered previously with my own experience, and supported by comments on this discussion, Stripe win rate for disputing chargebacks is virtually nil. I'd love to be proven wrong here if you can share your actual win/lose rate stats.

That's fine for some things but my grandma is not going to buy from an online store that only takes crypto. Crypto as a payment option works well for computer-related merchants or for privacy-focused merchants. Like it wouldn't be uncommon to rent a VPS with crypto but it would be strange for an online candy store to accept it.
> That's fine for some things but my grandma is not going to buy from an online store that only takes crypto. Of course not, unless it becomes mainstream, crypto usage will always be by early adopters and technologists. I don't care if you accept cards as well, I just want to be able to pay privately with Monero. You're right that for chargebacks specifically the only way to eliminate them would be 100% crypto, not t…
