Have they? The most popular post from this domain is 5 days old and has ~500 points. Hardly a crowd favourite. The submitter seems to be the author, but doesn't have any more popular posts. A search for "user8" on algolia turns up these posts, and nothing else that was at all popular.

#23I require the internet in order to stay educated about my government, without it I would have a limited understanding of how my taxes are used. As much as I would like to "turn it off", I can only get the New York Times 4 days after it comes out.
Do those 4 days change your behavior?

I call my representatives everyday so yes sometimes I would be able to leave a comment on a vote in time vs not in time.

#26Can someone explain who this person is and why this is relevant? People crash out all the time; you can seek balance without "cold turkey", unless they find no value in the web at all, in which case why bother to post about it? Who is the audience of this website, if this is their last post?
This is an extremely online community. It makes sense that this small post would resonate with some readers, in my opinion.

#27I want to log off too but mostly because AI slop and bots are taking over. Old Internet was trash but at least it was human trash.
I unironically think ai slop has made me appreciate human trash more. I received plenty of bad essays prior to ai but at least there was some thought behind the undergrads first attempts at writing
