You cannot be serious. It was trivial to do this back before foldable seats were standard. You can fit at least two bikes in just the shitty "trunk" space of your average minivan. Every van ever made has more cargo space than the Cybertruck.

maybe this is an HN thing, but how would you bring your kids/wife and 4 bikes inside a minivan?

Assuming you have 2 kids, you remove the back row of seats, leaving four seats, and you can just load the four bikes up side by side in the back.

Like a hatchback, but much bigger.

The RWD model was only for sale briefly after launch. I don't know why you would ever want a pure RWD electric truck

I don't see why it would be an issue in most cases. Obviously you'd want AWD for proper off-roading, but for just driving around on streets it should be fine. My EV van is RWD and it's totally fine in everything I've dealt with - including deep snow - and I really only even noticed when trying to parallel park on ice.

The biggest difference in AWD vs RWD cars to the average consumer is usually gas milage. In the case of electric cars this is largely unaffected because there is no active driveline components just an electric motor

It's likely more than double as the test results indicates lateral G not coefficient of friction. Snow tires make a bigger difference than any other factor. Good tires make a bigger difference on track too, more than any one single performance upgrade

I would note the big difference in that trial is for summer vs snow, with all-season showing smaller degradation.

So there's two things going on: first, snow tires are a softer rubber that functions better at lower temperatures. There is a zone of "warm" snowy weather where all seasons are just fine, but then you get below 20F or 15F or so, and the all season start to harden, and their performance drops off a cliff.

Second, snow tires are made to get packed with snow at low speeds, because the friction of snow on snow is higher than snow on rubber.

So damn cold weather or enough snow for the packing to kick in, and two snow tires will start beating four all season.

That's vs the summer tires. Compared to the all seasons the results are much more modest and square with observed reality rather than internet hype.
