BIT Capital | Principal Engineer (Data & Platform) | Berlin, Germany | ONSITE (2 days/week) | Full-time

Looking for experienced engineers to build and scale infrastructure and data platforms for a Berlin asset management fund. We are betting big on AI to drive investment returns and build the best infrastructure to support our high alpha targets (track record >30% p.a. since inception; https://bitcap.com/en/bit-global-technology-opportunities-ai...).

You'll design large-scale data pipelines, evolve our lakehouse architecture, strengthen data quality and observability, and build infrastructure for AI/LLM workflows (agentic scaffolding, RAG, LLMOps, AI for engineering). We are looking for a hands-on technical leader, that is steering initiatives end-to-end while staying deep in implementation.

We have our roots in tech entrepreneurship (Jan Beckers), and this mindset still dominates our work culture, even as a regulated financial institution. We are a team of ~40 with a flat hierarchy, hands-on leadership, fast-paced decisions, and a little nerdy culture as people are actually passionate about their work. Stack: AWS, Databricks/Spark, Python, PostgreSQL, Agentic AI.

If the complexity of financial markets excites you as much as the complexity of distributed systems, you'll love it here. Competitive comp, relocation & visa support, stellar team.

Shepherd | ONSITE | San Francisco, CA

At Shepherd, we're pursuing the most ambitious technical vision in commercial insurance: fully autonomous underwriting. Shepherd is an AI-native commercial insurance platform transforming how high-hazard industries get covered.

The infrastructure behind the AI boom (data centers, semiconductor fabs, renewable energy assets) has to be built and insured, but traditional carriers weren't built for this speed. We built Shepherd to solve that.

We just recently announced our $42M Series B! That brings our total funding to over $60M — led by Intact Private Capital, the investment arm of one of the largest insurers in the world. Intact is not only our lead investor but also a carrier partner, a testament to the confidence the incumbent industry has in what we're building.

(Hear from our CEO here: https://www.shepherdinsurance.com/blog/behind-our-42m-series...)

(Hear from our CTO here: https://www.shepherdinsurance.com/blog/the-road-to-autonomou...)

This year, we’re growing our engineering team from 25 to 40. We’re looking for product-minded engineers to join us as we continue to scale! We’re looking for someone who thrives on ownership, drives results, and cares deeply about both technical excellence and customer impact.

We’re hiring various mid-level, senior-level and staff-level engineers. See some of our openings below:

Loophole Labs | Senior Systems Engineer | REMOTE (Americas & Europe) | $150k–195k USD + equity | Go, Zig, Rust, C, eBPF, CRIU, Kubernetes

We make Architect: a Kubernetes runtime that hibernates idle pods in place and wakes them in 50ms with TCP connections intact. Five engineers. You'd be the 6th.

If tracing an x86 instruction in the morning and hunting a control-plane race in the afternoon both sound fun, and you insist on measuring rather than guessing, this is the job.

Customers run Architect for workloads where cold starts hurt: real-time voice & video AI agents, long-warming JVM apps, stateful data services that can't be rescheduled cheaply. 1.0 shipped Q1 2026; you'd join mid-way through 2.0. Seed-stage, VC-funded, a few years of runway. Fully distributed across the Americas and Europe.

What you'd work on:

- Hibernation surface: containerd shims and CRUISE, our Zig-native CRIU replacement.

- Control plane: per-node DaemonSet streaming checkpoints; admission controller resizing hibernated pods in place.

- Networking and migration: eBPF/XDP at line rate; cross-node live migration to production; cross-cloud next.

You're a senior generalist. Years across the stack: assembly to frontends, hardware-near, comfortable in x86. Tests ship with the code, decisions get worked out in writing, and you measure rather than guess. Strong in Go; willing to use Zig, Rust, or C.

Bonus: eBPF/XDP, CRIU, Linux kernel internals, containerd, gVisor, live migration, or public writing in kernel/container/eBPF land. Strong systems depth and the willingness to pick up the rest is enough on its own.

Apply: https://loopholelabs.io/careers - we respond within the week (typically a few days).
