When you say harness what do you mean? I see the term thrown around a lot and I think it's lost its meaning in some fashion.

Funny you mention that, because I started noticing the word 'harness' being used everywhere about a month ago, even though I hadn’t seen it before (in this context). As I don’t trust my memory, I assumed I had just been overlooking it and added it to my vocabulary. I wonder if projects which are anti-AI could place such identifiers surreptitiously into docs or commits as a way to sabotage people using Claude Code. Your project isn't going to get many AI PRs if just cloning your project wiped out their quota.

I tried this with Opus 4.7. Doesn't do anything, it can continue the conversation and even repeat it back to me.

No, because this exhausts the scanner’s resource quota for several hours as well.

Why do you make it sound like it was a bad thing?

definitely not a bad thing in my opinion, I think the whole system should collapse 100% and closing down most companies in USA makes a lot of sense to me :)

It's fascinating to see all these bugs in Claude Code - HERMES.md, this OpenClaw issue, the recent thinking-message pruning and cache-skipping bugs.

They seem like the class of bugs I see in my vibe-coding experiments, and I think the Claude Code lead has said many times that he/his team don't read the code for Claude Code themselves, that it's basically vibe-coded.

If Anthropic itself can't make vibe coding work, who can?

Frankly if a project asks for no AI and you try to use AI for it, then you kinda deserve this. Calling the inclusion of this sort of thing "smuggling" is placing the blame in the wrong spot

I guess we're giving up on the idea that you're free to do whatever you want with software you own? Sure some project can tell you not to contribute AI generated code. But I see this as no different from DRM and user hostile

Are contributor guidelines that must be followed also no different from DRM in your view? Plenty of projects have those.
