Hopefully the negative responses in that thread + the conversation here on HN might help them realize that totally removing Code access for Pro users isn't a good look. A few enterprise customers I know are upgrading to the higher plan now that their limits have been nuked. I imagine Anthropic is trying to see how many users they can push to higher tiers with these new squeezes. I hate to say it but I imagine it will work. It’s going to suck for me, because I had gotten used to ridiculously cheap tokens, but I guess the era of subsidized tokens is over.

good reminder to me to stay in practice with manual coding for my side projects! claude is super convenient for them for now but if it goes it goes, I definitely don't want to get dependent on it. maybe the local models will improve in a year too.

Maybe it depends on the plan. We are on Team not Enterprise.

You should be blaming your employer for forcing you to use a personal device to access company resources. You should have been given a company phone or stipend.

I did complain about it in our chat and my boss later reached out, offering to set up a number on our company's Twilio account but by that time I had already entered my personal number.

I've noticed that there are some people who feel that their claude instance could be working on churning out multiple apps, and therefore if it isn't they are in some sense falling behind. it's the illusion of productivity raised to the level of a minor addiction.

What are you guys subscribed to if not Claude? Copilot? Or is everyone legit bringing their own license?

I got a claude api key from work that I use with zed. It works really well and usually ends up costing $25/day if I use it all day.

I did recently experiment with copilot for personal stuff, but will cancel it now that opus is no longer available on the $10/month plan.

UPDATE: it appears this is no longer a problem. Just tried again today, after verifying the number they ask if this is a personal or work account, I selected "Personal" and now I can use Claude both for work and for my own stuff.

That's true of any company in any country. If you can convince the government that your company is sufficiently important, you can get subsidized.

My point was that the AI companies in China have already convinced the government to subsidize them.
