Now they do, they didnt always, you have to start from somewhere, you always start small you dont just become a huge company instantly. Also wtf kind of an analogy is that ? Oh yeah chemists never innovate on your own or at a small scale we have big corpos doing it so you guys can stop now thanks

I think you have heard the rather famous quote "Its better to be a pirate than join the navy", small scale stuff can move a lot lot faster than some huge conglomerate.

I agree that not everyone needs to roll their own design but i think your conclusion is rather idiotic.

This is exactly true. Very similar reactions when in the mid 80's in typesetting the purists said also it's not real. (I was in the business back then and remember it well. Anyway a few things happened. End users (not everyone but many many) liked it enough to replace professionals. AND it got better than the initial version which people were evaluating.

It is actually a rational choice. It is a defense against extremely bad experiences. A personal example from a few weeks back. My SO booked a hotel for a weekend as a birthday present. We went there, it had a fantastic spa, dinner was delicious, the room great, clean, and so on. Individually designed, well thought out, friendly staff. Breakfast came around and the coffee was abysmal. Really truly abysmal. What did we…

"Useful" is an interesting term. How useful is someone who is an expert at using AI but has no computer?

Maybe your sample size is too small? I've lived close to the NL/D border for a while and the McD quality was indistinguishable on both sides of the border. The variation between restaurants in the same country and also between different days/times in the same restaurant was much greater than between countries. Okay, granted maybe it is. In NL it is mostly in cities (Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, Lelystad), in Germany with smaller places, and in Italy only in touristic places like Siena and Genoa. So maybe it is just a problem with McDonalds in Dutch cities.

This does not describe thoughtful, good work. At best, this will be a one-armed bandit deal where you're gambling on something good in these 5 minutes. It sure sounds like a scenario where you will mostly accidentally end up with something good.
