ClickHouse | Senior Cloud Software Engineer - Distributed Systems / Cloud Databases / Kubernetes | Remote Hiring in the US right now. Seniors/Staff/Principal levels

ClickHouse is a popular, Open-Source OLAP Database. We are ClickHouse Inc, the company behind the database aiming to build the best in class real time data warehouse.

I am hiring for AutoScaling as well as Distributed Cache Production Engineer Roles

What we are looking for:

Distributed Systems / Cloud Engineers to build

    - AutoScaling Systems for a Cloud Database

    - A Distributed Caching Layer on top of S3 [0]
If you have experience in productionising cloud-based multi-tenant caches - you would fit right in.

We also maintain our own ClickHouse-based Data Infrastructure. Bonus points if you've worked on auto-scaling or other data-driven forecasting challenges in the past.

Can work in a fast moving scale-up environment. Proactive and hands on.

You must be independent and self-organized.

Go, Kubernetes, Distributed Systems in general

You'll need to be able to do On-Call - debugging production infra or db issues

Low-level database programming (C++, ClickHouse) - This is crucial for the cache.
If you want to work on operating production critical databases/caches in the cloud on or write data-driven algorithms for autoscaling, consider applying! Send me an email: manish.gill [at] clickhouse [dot] com

PS: If you're a pure DevOps person or a pure Data Engineer who wrangles data tools, please read the above requirements carefully before firing off an email. This role is an intersection of a lot of sub-roles, not a particular specialization

I get why people want someone to use their product to see if they'd want to work on it, but as an observation, see this as an increasing trend and seeing half of a "I'm hiring" post dedicated to "Hey, install our product, here's how" gives hints of companies who are basically harvesting potential job candidates for DAUs...

Aha! ( https://www.aha.io ) | Rails / React / Devops | REMOTE Aha! is the #1 tool for product managers to plan strategy and roadmaps. We serve more than 700,000 users worldwide. Our application is built in Ruby on Rails, with React on the frontend for rich client-side experiences. * Devops engineers with Ruby experi…

In the product space... I get that this is a seller's market, but it's frustrating to see job applications that have (in Aha's) case "write 14 paragraphs of detailed and specific breakdowns of x and y and z before we'll even decide if we'll speak to you".

We all want to get away from AI slop, etc., but after having been burned one too many times by "perform an hour or more of work in applying for this job to not even get anything more than acknowledgment of receipt followed by crickets", I see that, and I turn away.

Oklo | Remote (US) or Santa Clara or Brooklyn | Full time | https://oklo.com Join us in pioneering the next generation of nuclear reactors! You'll leverage your software skills alongside nuclear engineers to model, simulate, design, and deploy advanced fission power technology. You will work at the forefront of the nuclear industry, developing novel techniques to reach new levels of safety, efficiency, and resiliency…

There is something up with your hiring system. I shared this post with a friend who applied, and they got an instant rejection. This is a data engineer with 4+ years experience in your stack and a degree in nuclear engineering to boot. Maybe not an ultimate hire but clearly not someone you should be auto-rejecting.
