I work primarily on backend systems, with a strong focus on performance and system stability/resilience. I worked as a performance engineer at the mobile add-attribution company Adjust.

Some interesting open-source projects include

https://github.com/fmstephe/memorymanager An exploratory manual memory allocator for building large in-memory data structures with near zero GC cost.

https://github.com/fmstephe/matching_engine A financial trading matching engine with a somewhat novel red+black tree implementation.

https://github.com/fmstephe/flib A set of packages primarily in support of a lock-free single-producer single-consumer queue.

My ideal position would be working on backend systems primarily in Go.

I'm a mission-driven design engineer with 15+ years of experience, the last 10 years working with early stage startups.

I've been working on AI-native products for the past 3+ years and want to find a thoughtful team working at the edge of applied AI on something clearly beneficial to humanity.

Open to both short/long-term contract or a full-time position if the chemistry is there.

I'd love to get back into Deep Lerning (torch, CUDA, etc, etc), but also cofortable with the usual "Agenetic AI", whatever you want it to mean, and  SvelteKit. In my past lives: Linux kernel development, Molecular Biology masters degree, Electronics engineering in Shenzhen.

I've been building software for 25 years, with experience scaling to several million users, running teams of 20+ people, bringing legacy software up to modern standards, building green field startup apps that successful sold. I've built AI (RAG) into a couple systems now. I am mission driven, with special place in my heart for civic software or software for the creative world, but am open to all sorts of configurations.

I'm looking for contract work, and can do anything from quickly iterating on getting a prototype built as a one person team, to fractional CTO work or anywhere in between.

Hello, I'm Rita. I am an independent software engineer with over 4 years of full-stack development experience, specializing in building clear, maintainable, secure, and reliable applications with Ruby on Rails (RoR) and postgreSQL.

I recently used RoR 8, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL to build the 'Pet Feeder Tracker' deployed on Render. This application is designed to help pet owners discover their pets' eating preferences and visualization of eating trends over time.

I am a problem solver, and my main tools are Python and Postgres, though my programming approach is informed by Lisp (many years of Emacs contributions), Prolog (the best kind of mind-bending) and OCaml (which I wish I was writing instead of Python).

I would like to be solving real-world problems: energy, logistics, communications, governance, trash removal. It's amazing what you can find out if you talk to people about their problems, and its amazing what you can solve with a concoction of fairly straightforward data science, ML, calculus, signal processing, and Rube Goldberg machines.
