Nectar Social (https://www.nectarsocial.com) | Software Engineer, Product Designer, Product Manager | Palo Alto, CA | Onsite | Full-time

Hi HN. I am an Engineering Manager at Nectar Social, and we're hiring across product, design and engineering.

The traditional playbook of buying ads on social media platforms no longer works for most brands. Buyers make purchasing decisions from organic conversations on social media platforms like Instagram, Reddit, X, and LinkedIn. Nectar listens to conversations in real time, surfaces actionable insights, attributes engagement to revenue, and drives conversions.

We came out of stealth last year and we are on a fast growth trajectory working with brands like OLIPOP, Hatch, K18, and Little Spoon. The company is ~30 FTEs and has many interesting challenges:

1. We ingest data from major social media which brings scaling and performance problems

2. We run AI agents on the content which requires us to control cost and optimize quality

3. We need to present lots of information about social conversations in an understandable way which requires good design.

4. We need to build resilient systems that can work within the constraints of our third party dependencies.

Our tech stack is React, Typescript, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, Clickhouse and Turbopuffer. We use AI tools thoughtfully to optimize our daily work - Cursor, Claude Code, Graphite, v0 / Replit, and Granola.

The roles we are hiring for:

- Staff Backend Engineer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/e5797dfd-275e-4a7a-b9...

- Staff Product Engineer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/2f942c62-bc21-41a2-ae...

- Founding Mobile Engineer (React Native) - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/192caa1d-8f36-472f-b9...

- Senior Product Designer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/673bbd54-9a3b-4478-84...

- Senior Product Manager - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/b63c6254-df3d-406e-83...

Please email careers@nectarsocial.com with "HN" in the subject line if you're interested.

SkySafe (https://skysafe.io) | Wireless Engineer (SDR) | San Diego, CA | REMOTE or HYBRID

At SkySafe we build drone detection and tracking at scale.

I am looking for a Wireless Communications Engineer with SDR expertise to join my team - I'm the hiring manager.

I need someone with a very strong background in signal theory and experience building software wireless modems. You will spend time learning about new systems from our reverse engineers (no RE experience required!), implementing both open and recovered specifications, and refactoring existing modems code to improve it in both theory (ie - what is the algorithmic state of the art for demodulating xyz thing) and practice (ie - how much memory bandwidth and CPU are you using where). As such, I'm looking for someone with true software modem experience; while DSP, FPGA, and generated code experience are useful and relevant, you'll need to be able to read and write C++ directly.

We can make this role work remotely (we have good tools and techniques to get you the data you need, and can ship hardware), but if you're in San Diego and want access to an office with nice equipment, that's even better. This position requires access to technology which is controlled by US Export laws, so you also need to be an eligible US Person.

What we have to offer: $145-200k. Fun, small team dynamic. Work with experts in adjacent fields. Startup environment with good work-life balance and limited red tape. Rapid iteration and feedback in the wild. Good equipment at the office.

Apply: brian@ for a direct line, https://jobs.lever.co/skysafe for the formal route (we have some other roles I'm not the HM for listed there, too, if you're interested in the company!)

Quadrillion (quadrillion.io) | Member of Technical Staff | NYC (ONSITE) | Full-time | $175K-$350K + generous equity

We build agents that companies can deploy for computational research. In particular, we built a custom editor (a ground-up replacement for Jupyter and VSCode) for agents to (a) work in notebooks and (b) coordinate with each other. You can fire off an agent to test a new reward function, spin up five to experiment across competing models, or send a Slack to kick off long-running, autonomous model training jobs. We’ve built a multi-agent coordination system that outperforms CC/Cursor at real research tasks, and are starting trials now with top-10 quant funds and AI labs.

We raised a $17M seed round led by Audacious and Conviction, with support from Bloomberg Beta, ex/ante, Wes McKinney (creator of Pandas), and several unicorn founders. Our team is composed of quants (ex-HRT, Citadel), PhD’s, and great founding engineers.

We’re hiring for high-agency engineers with sharp technical taste and experience in Python + React. We’d be particularly excited to meet full-stack folks with infra experience (distributed systems, cloud orchestration, etc) as we launch our cloud product.

Apply at https://careers.quadrillion.io/ — we’ll get back to you ASAP.

Proton VPN (https://protonvpn.com/) | Senior Performance Engineer | Barcelona, Spain or Geneva, Switzerland | ONSITE

Proton VPN enables millions of people to connect securely and privately, even in places where the internet is restricted or unreliable. Delivering that experience means our service must perform flawlessly under highly variable, real-world conditions.

We are looking for a Senior Performance Engineer to lead our efforts in making Proton VPN the fastest, most resilient, and most reliable VPN service in the world.

You will define and drive the measurement, analysis, and optimization of Proton VPN’s end-to-end performance, across clients, platforms, and global infrastructure. You’ll help ensure that every connection is fast, stable, and private, regardless of where the user is or what network they’re on.

We're looking for candidates with experience in system-level development (e.g. C or C++ or Rust), and network engineering (experience working with UDP/TCP and VPN protocols).
