I found a zoom daemon running on my kid's MacBook a year after uninstalling it. Turns out uninstall didn't kill background processes, needed a reboot to flush it away.
i am more impressed that the MacBook had a year uptime. The kid never rebooted it?
Most of our home machines (Intel) are never rebooted, still on High Sierra or Catalina.

Pessimists are just as often wrong too! I remember reading that slightly depressed people tend to have a more accurate world view. Perhaps there is something to the saying ignorance is bliss.
Starting with an accurate world model, no matter how dispiriting, seems to be a prerequisite for knowing the most effective action to take.
Screen sharing on Zoom (or any platform) is where the real anxiety kicks in. One wrong tab, one notification, one bookmarked URL you forgot about.
I've moved to keeping a completely separate browser profile for calls - nothing in it except the meeting app. Overkill? Maybe. But it eliminates the pre-share panic entirely.
