I'm so surprised there is so much pushback against this.. AWS is extremely expensive. The use cases for setting up your system or service entirely in AWS are more rare than people seem to realise. Moving away is an existential issue for them - this is why there's such pushback. A huge % of new developer and devops generation doesn't know anything about deploying software on bare metal or even other clouds and they're terrified about being unemployed.
