No. Nothing is but is that what's happening? Huge bets were made on the Internet technology in the US and it paid off even with the dot com bubble bursting. I saw an interview with the director of the FBI describing FBI headquarters as having nets on all sides, so falling debris don’t kill people on the ground.

The fact that the FBI, which is institutionally highly defended, feels the need to spend money and effort on stopping falling debris, tells you something about how accountable government agencies are.

I always chuckle at how Python became the dominant language for AI / ML / data science etc but wonder why it is that Fortran and Python became the golden combo, it could have been done with any other language, no complaints, I love Python, but its just amusing to me.

Yeah Python is older than Linux or HTTP. It was virtually unknown in the 1990s, though.

Just got back from a trip to Japan and I found that Tokyo and Kyoto also met most of your criteria. Cash is still pretty common there and definitely can't go cashless (nor would I personally like to), and there's no delivery drones that I'm aware of (I also don't particularly care for that, personally). I'm not even sure it's that they're ahead, I think we've just fallen behind in a lot of those cases.

You can if you're local. Either IC card or credit card or payment app. I helped developed Merpay, one of the local payment app. These days I almost never use cash.

In China it's even better, even street vendor use QR payment.
