KVM+QEMU+libvirt seems to be the way to go. What are you going to use instead? VMware?

this isn't really related but anyone else found VirtualBox basically unusable these days? Every linux distro I tried crashes or hang in a bizarre way and it's impossible to make the autoresize of the desktop work.

Hyper V on windows is fine
