Apple has become the big bully a-hole company that Microsoft used to be (perhaps even worse). Apple always was the little guy and had it's faithful niche market. It was the "underdog" that everyone rooted (or at least deep down felt a bit felt sorry for). Now it has "sold out" and gone mainstream. It has become a greedy corporate giant and with it's figurehead now out of the picture - it's image has begun to tarnish…

Apple does NOT have a patent on rectangles or rounded corners. And there is no evidence that Apple's image hasn't been tarnished at all in the eyes of the general public. I see no reason that the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini will again be record breaking sellers for Apple this year.

And yet Apple's legal team suggested that Samsung build smartphones and tablets without rounded corners in order to avoid being sued:

How can you actually try to defend prostitution? Would you defend murder and rape too? Both are crimes, both are immoral, both are as old as hills.

What is inherently immoral with prostitution? Unlike murder and rape, it is a victimless crime and is in fact legal in many countries.

This article has some good points - http://aphilosopher.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/the-ethics-of-p...

"One reason often given as to why prostitution is immoral is that it tends to involve coercion. In most cases, people do not freely decide to become prostitutes. In some cases, they are driven to the profession by desperation and a lack of other opportunities for employment. In other cases, they are forced into prostitution by others. In some cases, people are enslaved and forced to be prostitutes."

There is nothing wrong with prostitution other than the fact that it is illegal in some places. You are employing "the world's worst argument" to try to compare a consensual act between two adults to murder. Proselytize elsewhere.

There is plenty wrong with prostitution.

It is wrong to take advantage of a woman. Women become prostitutes because they have no other reasonable way of making money; or they need quick money for drugs/rent/baby food/etc.

I may not be a religious person (since I became an adult) but I hold the belief that sex should be sacred. It should be kept between 2 people who want to connect with each other. We have sex with each other for intimacy, not just for a short burst of ecstasy. If that was the only reason we had sex with each other we'd be no better than dogs.

I think you're being way too pedantic here. With your definition you could argue that truly nothing is innovative then... From Wikipedia: Innovation is the creation of better or more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments, and society. You don't think Apple fits that definition?

By that definition, Samsung is more innovative than Apple- 4.8 Inch Display vs 3.5 Inch Quad core processor vs Dual Core processor 4g vs 3g And, no lawsuits from Samsung. Who is more innovative, now?

How the heck do you measure who is "more innovative". Are there varying degrees of innovation? Who decides which one is more innovative? It's a completely subjective characteristic...

Let's say one could choose only one of the groups: either have Apple while MS, Google, Amazon, and FB does not exists, or there's no Apple and the rest is there. Would anyone really choose the first scenario?

Your hyperbole is phenominal, truly.

first of all I don't think its wise to really say demeaning words about some profession (its the oldest profession and still running many people's house). secondly, there is nothing like an obvious patent, if a patent is defensible then its very much obvious that it wasn't obvious. Remember, Apple hasn't won a case against a small startup. Samsung in itself is a pretty big company and has all the resources to fight A…

How can you actually try to defend prostitution? Would you defend murder and rape too? Both are crimes, both are immoral, both are as old as hills.

You mean, prostitution is a crime? Didn't they decriminalize the trade in a variety of jurisdictions (e.g. Germany)?

Anyway, that's off-topic.

You don't like consensual group sex, either? (Not that you or I or anyone is under any obligation to engage in it. But there's nothing wrong with people who do so.) Or sex for one (instead of two)..

Actually, dogs have a very different sexuality. They don't have sex all year round. Humans are special.

Can anybody say "bubble"? It's clear to most people Apple isn't worth the money the stock markets assign it - well over half their cap is investment in the brand. If they ever do anything to damage that or if they do something even remotely wrong, a whole lot of people are going to lose a whole lot of money.

Do you know if it's feasible to take long term short positions on Apple? Say, like 5 years?
