#35It's surprising to me that attractive, GPU-accelerated window compositing is not a 100% solved problem in the Linux ecosystem. I'm assuming I'm missing some huge technical challenge. Does anyone have the ELI5 on this?

#39I miss simple Windows-like experience in Linux. I fondly remember GNOME 2 days. It was the best Linux experience I've ever had. Task bar with open window buttons and workspace switches. Icon tray. Start menu. It just worked.
